Stacy Francis has taken to Twitter to express her condolences and regrets about her run-in with Whitney Houston just two days before she died.
'This is a sad time for me. I loved Whitney Houston with all my heart,' she wrote on Sunday. 'She was such an amazing musical influence for me.
'I deeply regret the events that led to Thursday’s misunderstanding, but I respect and love her more than I can say.'
'At this painful time, I would like to express my support and most sincere condolences to Whitney’s family in learning of her sudden death,' Francis continued. 'I will always remember her to be a deeply humane person and wish her spirit to rest in peace.'
The former X Factor contestant Stacy Francis nearly came to blows with the musical icon last Thursday — for talking to Whitney's on-off boyfriend Ray J.
'She ran over to them and began screaming, ‘This is my man! I’m a cougar!’' a source told Radar Online.
Ray J, 31, who had reportedly rekindled his romance with Houston despite his denials, tried to calm down the angry singer, assuring her that he and Francis, 42, were family friends.
But according to Radar, after Houston - who is said to have been drinking tequila - pointed fingers and shouted, even shoving Francis in her forehead at one point, the ex-X Factor reportedly gave in and pushed her back.
Meanwhile Janet Jackson, who was close to the singer during the 80s and 90s, told Anderson Cooper that Whitney was a 'sweet soul,' she added: 'She was such a sweet, sweet soul. We would always take the time out to find one another.
And Chaka Khan believes it was 'insane' to hold the Clive Davis Grammy party the same night that her friend died, and that she couldn't even get dressed to attend.
